Absentee Ballot Information

Any qualified voter, who by reason of physical condition, religious beliefs, or necessary absence from the City on the day on which a General Election is to be held, may make application for an absentee voting ballot.

An application may be obtained from the Office of the City Clerk. The application must be presented no later than 5 p.m. on the day before an election. It may be presented by mail or delivered in person by the voter or the applicant’s authorized agent.

When the application is received by mail, the City Clerk will issue the absentee voting ballot by return mail; when the application is presented in person, the City Clerk will issue the absentee voting ballot to the voter or duly authorized agent. Persons receiving absentee ballots will also be furnished official self-addressed return envelopes for use in returning the marked ballots.

Only those ballots received in official return envelopes shall be counted and considered properly cast. All absentee ballots must be received by the closing of Polls at 8 PM on the day of the election.
